What are cookies and what do we use them for?

A cookie is a small information file that is stored in your browser every time you visit our website.

Cookies are used to store your browsing history on our website so that the next time you visit, it can identify you and configure its content based on your browsing habits, identity, and preferences.

Cookies are harmless, they do not contain malicious code (e.g., Viruses, trojans, worms, etc.) that could damage your device (computer, smartphone, tablet, etc.), but they do have some impact on your data protection rights, as they collect certain information about you (browsing habits, identity, preferences, etc.)

What information do cookies store?

Cookies do not usually collect special category data (sensitive data). They store technical data, personal preferences, personalised content, etc.

What types of cookies are there?

Broadly speaking, there are five types of cookies:

Technical cookies:

These are most basic cookies. They allow users to browse a website, platform or application and use the different options and services available on it, for example controlling data traffic and communication, identifying the session, accessing restricted sections, remembering order elements, completing the order purchase process, registering for an event, using security elements while browsing, storing content to broadcast videos or sound, and sharing content on social media.

Personalisation cookies:

Allow the user to access the service with certain predefined general characteristics based on a series of criteria on the user’s device, such as language, the type of browser being used to access the service, regional settings, etc.

Analysis cookies:

Allow the controller to monitor and analyse the behaviour of the users of the websites they are linked to. The information collected by this type of cookie is used to measure activity on websites, applications or platforms and to create browsing profiles on the users of said websites, applications and platforms for the purpose of making improvements based on analysing data on how the users make use of the service.

Advertising cookies:

Allow the management, in the most efficient way possible, of any advertising space which the controller has included on a web page, application or platform from which the requested service is provided, based on criteria like edited content or the frequency at which adverts are shown.

Behavioural advertising cookies:

Allow the management, in the most efficient way possible, of any advertising space which the controller has included on a web page, application or platform from which the requested service is provided. These cookies store information on the behaviour of users obtained from the continuous monitoring of their browsing habits, which allows the creation of a specific profile to show targeted advertisements.

What are first-party and third-party cookies?

First-party cookies:

Las cookies propias son aquellas que se generan y gestionan por el propio responsable que presta el servicio solicitado por el usuario.

Third-party cookies:

These are generated by entities other than the controller (external services or providers, for example Google)
